Six years ago, TLMI established an Environmental Leadership Award to recognize the leadership efforts of member companies that have demonstrated their commitment to good environmental practices.
Two awards were given; the TLMI Environmental Leadership Award For Innovative Technology, awarded to Avery Dennison, Fasson Roll N.A. and the TLMI Environmental Leadership Award For Process Improvement, awarded to Lauterbach Group.
All TLMI members are eligible to apply. Candidates must be able to quantitatively measure environmental benefits by at least one of the following:
*Reducing their solid waste
*Expanding a recycling project
*Recovery of waste or energy
*Implementing a new clean technology or process
*Implementing an education program
The submissions will be evaluated by a panel from the TLMI Environmental Committee based on, but not limited to, the following criteria:
*Pollution Reduction/Prevention Practices of modifications that reduced waste and/or energy consumption.
*Environmental Leadership Management practices that demonstrate environmental commitment and establishment of new standards.
*Benefits Measurable environmental and economic effectiveness of the program.
*Relevance to others Adaptability of this program or technology to the industry or end user.
*Uniqueness of the program, project or technology.
