The past year has been an exceptional one for TLMI. Membership is higher than it has been in more than a decade, and attendance at converter and annual meetings has exceeded projections. For the first time in the event's history, the TLMI Technical Conference held in Chicago in September was sold out. While the TLMI Board of Directors remain optimistic that TLMI's success will continue into 2012, we remain diligent in our dedication to ensuring that TLMI's converter and supplier members receive the resources and tools they require to improve their companies in this challenging economy.

Sustainability continues to be a driving force in our industry. Nearly 30 companies have achieved TLMI L.I.F.E. (Label Initiative for the Environment) certification. In 2011 members of the TLMI Board made presentations to both the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and to Walmart, promoting the association's goals with the L.I.F.E. program and its expanding recognition in the marketplace.

This year TLMI also announced that the association has entered into a long term partnership with the Tarsus Group to co-sponsor Tarsus’ Labelexpo Americas exposition beginning in 2014 and ending in 2022. This benefits TLMI and Tarsus as we work together to serve the changing requirements of both TLMI’s member companies, and the greater North American narrow web industry

As this year draws to a close, TLMI looks forward to the opportunities 2012 will bring.
