Leveraging Software to Increase Profits, Streamline Processes & Decrease Errors
Substrate cost can amount to as much as 60% of your production costs! Inks as much as 15%! There is only so much you can do to squeeze the cost of these resources to gain more profitability without having to turn elsewhere. What’s next? …Labor. How can you best impact the cost of lost time in make-readies, color management, routine tasks and common errors. Looking further up stream, to prepress, is one obvious answer. Integrating solutions that will drive profitability in the packaging and print supply chain is at the core of what Esko and APR strive to provide.
This APR and Esko Seminar aims to demonstrate how you can leverage simple Adobe® Illustrator® plug-ins, dynamic tools, automation and intelligent prepress software solutions to improve productivity and accuracy in your production flow from prepress to platemaking and into the press room. No matter the production process (flexo, gravure, digital, screen printing or offset): Esko solutions help you to optimize cost, streamline workflows and improve quality and consistency to more effectively “Feed the BEAST.”
Topics we will cover:
A Morning and Afternoon Session each covering the topics below, repeated so you can select the time of day that suits you best.
- The Story:We will walk you through the production cycle for three sample products (label and shrink, folding carton and bag) to demonstrate how to best leverage your software to have the greatest impact on productivity and profitability.
- Prepress in Adobe® Illustrator®: DeskPack is a collection of packaging prepress plugins for Adobe® Illustrator® and Adobe® Photoshop®. Using Esko’s pre-production knowledge and 3D tools, we will show you how you can boost productivity and reduce errors while working in your favorite design application.
- Prepress Automation: We will show you ways to work faster while reducing costs and errors. An automated workflow greatly enhances quality assurance. Operators, CSRs and admin staff are able to detect errors early in the workflow, increasing overall quality, avoiding expensive mistakes and reducing costs.
- Cameo Spotlights: We will conclude with a brief discussion about G7® and ColorDyne 3600 Series Retrofit Inline Digital 5-color Print Solution for your Flexo press. Starting with an explanation of each solution, we will the review the pros and cons and how you can best harness G7 and inline digital printing to take your operation to the next level.
This seminar is ideal for those who are considering adding prepress software tools to their current workflow and want to learn more about what tools are available. While this seminar is directed towards prepress professionals, Graphics/Prepress managers and owners in the Narrow-Web market, the software solutions discussed are used across all packaging market segments. Tools discussed include DeskPack, Automation Engine, Studio (3D) and Color Engine.
