2017 TLMI Environmental Leadership Award Winners
TLMI’s Environmental Leadership Award recognizes both a converter and a supplier member each year that consistently demonstrated a commitment to progressive environmental practices across a range of areas. These include solid waste reduction, recycling, waste or energy recovery, the implementation of new ‘clean’ technology and/or processes, or the implementation of an education program.
Hub Labels: 2017 Converter Environmental Leadership Award Winner
Hub Labels has been L.I.F.E.-Certified since 2012. They have made great strides toward reducing their carbon footprint by using their “Project LIFE Team” to achieve and exceed environmental goals in 2016.
- In waste recycling, between 2012 and 2016: 39% reduction in waste generated, 678,000 pounds waste reduction, $84,736 saved and an 82% increase in recycled materials.
- Press-room setup KAIZEN
- Growth in linerless applications which reduces spent liner
- Print flow program which reduces setup time and minimizes waste
- Water usage reduction of over 30% between 2012 and 2016
- 36% vehicle gas reduction by switching to an electric vehicle
3M: 2017 Supplier Environmental Leadership Award Winner
3M has made their #1 sustainability priority “Improving Lives.” From the top down, their President and CEO to their Chief Sustainability Officer, 3M has demonstrated clear goals, including the use of sustainable materials, energy efficiency, water management and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
3M has an outstanding record of reduction and diversion. For 2016 and year-to-date 2017, their adhesive and tape division diverted nearly 95% of their landfill waste.
